WHERE ARE BEAR CREEK GLASS SINKS MADE?

Bear Creek Glass sinks are made in a state-of-the-art glass facility located in the USA. While the shop is new, some of the glass methods we use are 3,000 years old. The public is welcome to view our team of artisans blow glass in the “hot shop” from our cool gallery.

HOW ARE BEAR CREEK SINKS DISTINCTIVE FROM OTHER GLASS VESSELS ON THE MARKET?

Bear Creek Glass sinks are hand made works of art. One of our trademarks is the unique shapes of our sinks, particularly our Waterbowl and Splash vessels. Their free form designs imitate the fluid qualities of water.

ARE BEAR CREEK GLASS SINKS MADE FROM RECYCLED GLASS?

Yes 50% of our products come from 100% recycled glass and the rest come from partially recycled glass.

IS THERE A PARTICULAR DRAIN THAT SHOULD BE USED WITH BEAR CREEK SINKS?

Yes, for best results, use our Quickflow drain available in a wide range of finishes.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SPLASH STYLE AND THE CLASSIC STYLE LAVATORIES?

The Splash lavatories generally have gently curving sides while Classic sinks are symmetrical and are curved upward with deeper sides.   Each style is available in its own set of colors.

IF I ORDER THE SAME STYLE SINK THAT I HAVE SEEN IN A SHOWROOM BUT IN ANOTHER COLOR, CAN I EXPECT THE SHAPE TO BE THE SAME?

Even though the “Classic” style is hand made and unique, they are very consistent in shape from one to another. Because the “Splash” and "Waterbowl” are hand made and intentionally non-symmetrical their shapes will be different from one to another.

Questions & Answers

HOW SIMILAR CAN TWO SINKS ORDERED AT THE SAME TIME BE IF I WANT TO INSTALL THEM SIDE BY SIDE? CAN I GET TWO THAT MATCH?

Variation in shape and color patterns from bowl to bowl make your bowl distinct and unique. If you desire side by side installation, please indicate this on your order and we will create something very special for your space. Although we could make sinks that match at different times it is much easier to make them at the same time.

ARE BEAR CREEK SINKS DESIGNED TO BE MOUNTED ON TOP OF OR UNDER THE COUNTER TOP?

All Bear Creek sinks can be top or “vessel” mounted. All sinks can also be partially sunk into the counter top called “self-rimming”. In addition, the “Classic” sinks can be completely “undermounted”. Check the sink specifications to determine how it can be mounted.

CAN I COMMISSION A CUSTOM SIZE AND COLOR?

Yes, custom sinks can be ordered for a 50% additional charge. Because glass colors can sometimes look different from their pictures or even small glass color chips, we recommend ordering sample bowls to see if the desired color is obtained. With a five inch diameter, sample bowls can be ordered for $150 each and make great soap dishes. Once the color is approved by the customer and the sink is created the sale is final.

DOES ANY STYLE FAUCET WORK?

If you under mount your sink any faucet should work. If your sink is “self-rim” or “vessel” mounted the height of the sink lip above the counter will determine what height faucet you use. Faucets come in many styles and sizes. Some come with a high neck and handles, some can be mounted on the wall, and lower height faucets can be mounted on a ledge or shelf behind the sink.

ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL CARE INSTRUCTIONS?

Never use water so hot that you can not hold your hand under it. Consider turning your water heater down to an energy saving temperature around 120 degrees.

HOW SHOULD I CLEAN MY SINK?

Our sinks can be cleaned with any non-abrasive cleaner, glass cleaner or rubbing alcohol.

SOME OF THE BOWLS LOOK SHALLOW, WILL WATER SPLASH OUT?

Our sinks are designed and tested not to splash even if they look shallow. Some of our sinks are lower profile than others strictly as a matter of design. Most of today’s modern aerated faucets do not splash even on a flat surface.

HAVE ANY DROP TESTS BEEN DONE TO TEST THE DURABILITY (MEANING DROPPING ITEMS INTO THE BOWLS, NOT DROPPING THE BOWLS THEMSELVES!)?

Yes, we have done extensive drop testing. The sinks hold up very well to most objects used in the bath.

WHAT IS THE TYPICAL LEAD TIME ON A BOWL?

Normal lead time is 4-6 weeks.  If your time line is shorter we may be able to work with your schedule.

ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS?

You can view the installation instructions of our sinks on the Bear Creek style sheets and online. Do not over tighten drain assemblies.

DO YOU HAVE A RETURN POLICY?

Yes, if a customer is not completely satisfied, we will replace the uninstalled bowl within 30 days. Please note all returns are subject to a restocking fee that will vary depending on the product.

DO YOUR PRODUCTS COME WITH A WARRANTY?

Yes, all our glass products carry a one year limited warranty for defects. In addition, Bear Creek Glass will replace any glass product for one half of the current retail price if it becomes chipped, broken, or worn for any reason, forever. We call this our “lifetime use” warranty. Please refer to our warranty information on the support page.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO LIGHT MY SINK?

This depends on how the sink is mounted (vessel, self-rim, or under mount) and the color of your sink. If your sink is vessel mounted the best way to light your sink is from above. If your sink is self-rimmed or under mounted the best way to light your sink is from underneath with a low voltage soft light.

WHAT TYPE OF BULB IS RECOMMEDED TO LIGHT MY BEAR CREEK GLASS PENDANTS?

For Bear Creek Glass pendants you may use a GY 6.35 Bi-pin Halogen lamp or a MRC-16 Halogen lamp found at any hardware store.

WHAT TYPE OF BULB IS RECOMMEDED TO LIGHT MY BEAR CREEK GLASS SCONCE?

For Bear Creek Glass sconces you may use any 100w bulb.

IF I PURCHASE A LOTUS CHANDELIER, HOW WILL I REPLACE THE LED BULB WHEN IT GOES OUT?

Individual LED’s are easily replaced by unscrewing two screws, removing the LED and cable and replacing them. Full instructions will come with the LED when you replace them in 10 to 50 years.

HOW LONG CAN AN LED LIGHT LAST?

LED’s will slowly diminish their light output over many years. After 10 years of 12 hour daily use, the LED will still put out 70% of its original light output and 60% after 20 years!

DOES THE ATLANTIS OR LOTUS CHANDELIER COME IN OTHER SIZES THAN SPECIFIED?

Yes, Bear Creek Glass can do custom lighting. Please contact us for pricing.

IF A GLASS PIECE BREAKS ON THE ATLANTIS OR LOTUS CHANDELIER, HOW DO I REPLACE IT?

Lotus pieces simply unscrew. Because there are so many pieces in an Atlantis chandelier, breaking one would not be noticed. If needed new pieces can be wired to the frame.
